Cover art for Love Song No. 7 lyrics by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Call me crazy, but when I hear this song I think of obsession and rape.

"Now that you're here it seems every one of us seems to take the wrong way home"

Someone (likely female) took the wrong way home, and was abducted, taken where she didn't want to be.

"Now that you're safe with me Trying to get a handle on the name of love"

The person who abducted her has known about her for quite some time, has been following her or stalking her. Might have deluded himself into believing that she loves him, and most certainly believes he loves her.

"Safe and sound So safe for now You're safe and sound So safe for now Safe and sound So safe for now We're safe and sound So safe, oh no"

The abductor reassuring the woman, telling her it's all going to be all right, she's safe with him now.

"How does it taste to when you're screaming away your loved man (As you walk away, it makes you feel sweet, warm)"

She screams too much, says something that triggers him, or something along these lines, and is killed. Walking away is a metaphor for going to heaven. Heaven would certainly feel sweet and warm compared to being stolen away.

"Doctor said, "Son, you should carry a gun, all right?""

The woman may have been with someone, her boyfriend or just a friend, when she was abducted, and he was knocked out or hurt in some way.

The rest of the song, I have no idea...but I just figured I'd take a stab at it. This is what the song means to me, so I may as well share. =D
