I'm not quite sure what it's about but i thought maybe its about someone experiencing something fot the first time ("eyes all on fire as if you've never been here before") and doesn't know how to react and she tries to deny it and distract herself. The "You wont just stand there, looking at the ground" line tears at me. I dont know what it really means but obviously this person is tring to hold back and hide something.
