They regret living a selfish life of pleasure seeking, and now they want to change. But sometimes they still find themselves in that dark place where "sunshine does not want to shine on them" and in the back of their mind they still struggle with the desires that they feel enslaved to.
It's a beautiful song that I can really relate to. Tom was the lead songwriter on this one, right? I love those early No Doubt records.
