This is possible my favorite song of all time (tied with a few beatles songs though, I don't have a top favorite). I was rasied on this band, their first album was my childhood. I can't believe I JUST found out the was orignally done with split Enz and was a single and everything. I'm just so shocked since I felt like no one knew that song or anything. I knew of SE, but years ago (like ten years ago) when I searched for a song meaning, video or a live version... I never came across the SE version. Anyways...
But from reading, it has to be about the end of Split Enz like stated before.
