I love this song. It seems to me that in this song the guy and his partner have all these obstacles that are getting in between them and he is asking her to try and overcome these obstacles with him. He saying that he would give up, but then he can't let her go because he's looking into their freedom in the future so he's asking her to try so they'll be happy again especially when it's just him and her without the troubles of life.
