N'aucun (de) commentaires sur ce chanson? Quelle scandale!
Back to English, this song is beautiful! Much better than the plain old English vers IMO.
Does Damon sing in French at the end with the girl (Francoise, I think she was called)? If he does, then even more reason to admire him.
Mind you, I never needed that much of an excuse in the first place.
Anyway, it's about a failing lationship\ that - somehow - pulls through.
Tous ces bals masqués (si peu d'amour)
Du mauvais cinéma (et tant de haine) =
All these masked balls (So little love)
Of bad cinema (And... so much(?) .... hate).
These aren't actual masked balls, but rather, a metaphor for both people in the relationship hiding their true feelings under a flimsy disguise. I guess the line 'Du mauvais cinéma' is in there because the writer (Damon or otherwise) thinks that the situation is like that in a bad movie.
I'll do a full translation later. I have coursework due in TOMORROW and it is imperative I get on with it!
