The song is a B-side to Lazy Days. I really love that songs, it is a pity he did not publish it as an A-side. It is really relaxed song, and funny because he imitates "Carol's voice", it is a mix of singing and spreaking which makes it sound more honest as if the story had happened to him. It is, as with most of Rob's songs, hard not to relate the song to his person. In my opinion it is about the dream of a man to find the one and only in somebody in a woman he meets by chance, after his performance, a groupie maybe. I love in the song that he is falling in love with her as he observes that "She had a curry stain/That was down her cardie" which means she is not someone perfect but rather the Bridget Jones type of girl. "But her teeth were clean", that is why she is nevertheless is very sexy and he wants to kiss and sleep with her. At the end he wants to marry her as he observes that "She had a bit of cabbage stuck between her teeth ". What I like in this song is the image of a woman it creates, because the man is attracted rather by her imperfectness than by her appearance. It is apparent that he gives data about her biographical background " She was educated at this school called RADA She was made to go by her mother And financed by her father She said Room 211 and I said (laugh) rather " which implies that they had a rather intimate talk, and no inforamtion about how she looks like. As it is almost typical for Rob, he contradicts himself by giving background information about her, but "I got her name wrong once or twice/I said I'll call ya Carol, yeh?/ She said that would be nice ". On another level it is also about the confrontation of his imagination with reality. Because she inspires him from the beginning to dream of tragical and romantic death "Pillow over head again/I'll suffocate in you" but she rejects him as he proposes marriage to her.
