I love the contrast between the scathing verses, and the retreating chorus, seemingly sarcastically applauding someone for achievements that aren't as great as they might be making out, then revealing that the singer would just take the 'easy road out of here' anyway.
The 'All you had to do was beat the best' bit isn't in the lyric book, so I tried to work it out from just listening, I'm open to suggestions as to what it may be.
