I think this song is about sexual abuse. First verse, he sings about how the "shadows come to life" while the little boy is sleeping. Possibly talking about how his father sneaks into his room to molest him at night. At age nine he knows about it but lies to his friends so that they wont find out (Look up Co-Dependency). Chorus mentions "Taking me home, getting me stones, LEAVE ME ALONE" as if his father is getting him stones in order to molest him; hence the reason he says "leave me alone" after he mentions "getting me stoned".
He then talks about some lady letting him in and the first time not feeling right and that it will be the alst time he tries. This is probably talking about sexual confusion.
The last verse, when he is staring at a little boy, it might be talking about the cyrle repeating itself.
The idea of drug use above is also possible.
Pretty strong lyrics and either way, it does a good job of showing how children can be subject to abuse that they are not able to escape.
