Montage was first featured in the South Park episode Asspen (a sports-training montage), which sends up b-grade skiing movies. The song explains the movie-maker's device of "montage", making fun of it at the same time as they are using it. Karate Kid, No Retreat No Surrender and even Rocky had a montage
