I’m pretty sure this song is about the process of finding your true identity as you’re growing up. He’s saying that it’s the time when you be what you wanna be, but he realizes that its harder than it seemed it would be. Therefore, he begins to just copy other people. Then, he’s saying that it sucks no one will remember what he’s doing - especially because he’s not being himself. He then wants to make other people what him and his group are, he wants to make them worship them because then it’ll make them feel like ‘they’re in love’. He goes on saying that he’s being more fake than he’s ever been - he’s not being true to himself.
