Yeah, there are several mistakes in these lyrics...
In the chorus:
"A narcotising pain", not appetising.
"Starving masses cry for help", not artists.
First verse:
"In this ruthless time", not in this rule it's time.
Second verse:
"See the concrete bricks behind", not brains
"See the false tears that they cry", not thoughts
"Pray for reason, for a way", not far away
"Public falls asleep... and I", not die
It's a great song, in my opinion. I've always interpreted it as talking about a city or even a country in ruins after a war (hence "call it justice, call it fair"), possibly the artist's native Germany. No matter whose house you go to, everywhere looks the same, nobody has enough to live on, and everything's in a state of decay.
