Lyric discussion by Mr. Hippo

Well, if make such a stupid attack on a song (worst I’ve heard in a very long time, the pussycat dolls are still out there remember) - expect some feedback. The subject matter has been done before I’m sure, but how many songs have been written before, and what are the chances of writing completely original lyrics? I don’t know where you are - but living in Scotland, this song never even comes near a radio playing so it’s good to hear this genre for a change

The repetition of this song creates a peaceful tone; surprisingly enough, a song can repeat to give other justified effects than intensity. The lyrics also repeat to build up to a bridge section in which he explains what is 'easy': Easy to be with you Easy to obey Easy to forgive you at the end of the day Easy now to judge you Easy to betray Easy to adore you though you want to run away.

By holding back the full meaning of this chorus lyric, the bridge section has a larger lyrical impact on the listener. When saying the word 'easy' during the chorus, long, extended notes are used which give the chorus this relaxed mood. The verse is quite different melodically from the chorus; the progression to the second verse has much more of an impact than the first verse due to the chorus preceding it, the drummer also introduces the use of his snare drum in verse 2 to put the song into a 'standard' rhythm which drives the song forward - the song has small changes like this which all build up until the bridge. Although it's not exactly an 'intense' build up, it is gradual and gives the mood of this song. Being a guitarist, I also appreciate the skill and melody of the rhythm guitar as well as the lead guitar's sound and 'more is less' approach. I also appreciated the skill and melodies of the vocalists. There are a few reasons why I like this song and I'm really sorry for the last line I wrote in my previous comment - I was having a bad day.
