@philocaly dusting off the old SOM records, and this song brought back much joy from my college days. Yes, you are correct. This song is about a ruler of a Nation (aka "Kingdom") at war, and how said ruler does all for his own selfish desires. Lucretia, when she was raped by the King's son, committed suicide in front of King and citizens out of revolt, which ultimately sparked the revolution that ended the rule of kings in Rome. The metaphor here is that the ruler in this song is seeing his reflection in Lucretia, meaning...
