WHAT AN AMAZING SONG!!

To me this song is a critique on modern Irish sociey, and also a reflection that in many ways Mick Pyro is a lost sould in this world - he is an intellectual in a world of philistines.

Pyro's lyrics are up there with the greats - dylan, young, van morrison you name them he's up there with them. But he will be forever ridiculed, because people can't see past his 50 cent charity suit, and giant white glasses. It's nothing short of a tragedy! And it truly reflects how superficial this society really is.

With regards the song it reflects how drugs and alcohol have become a dominent feature of Irish society, but Pyro dosn't want these things to consume his life. He wants to be sound of mind so he can continue to nurture his lyrical genius "oh they me coming....I got high on mars with the motherfuckers".

This revulsion of the people who surround him is reflected when he says "I try and tell you somethin you fuckin leave it's always the same way no one even listens to a single word I say oh". No one who knows Pyro can understand his depth of meaning so they shun him to the periphery. TRAGIC.

The verse at the end is one of the most beautiful I have ever heard. Pyro at his most beautiful. How he wishes to be surrounded by people who think like him, who are as intelligent as him. But he knows that the only one that can match his intelligence and his depth of understanding of the world is Jesus. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
