I don't really see it that way. Nothing really indicates the "you" is a cheating sig. other (nothing indicates it isn't either, funny thing about interpreting song lyrics). Combined with the spooky sounding music, it just sounds like someone was caught up to no good in the woods. What the person was up to is anyone's guess, but that's the mystery of the song.

Oh, and also, there seems to be only one person in question, not two, in the woods:

Who was it that we saw that night (not who were they) Someone doing something not right (not some people)

as for "interrupting their delight" I think a general pronoun was used so that the song could stay very general, not specifying male or female, keeping the meaning ambiguous, not implying that there was more than one person.

Everyone has their own interpretation, etc, but I think someONE was just caught on bad behavior. I always imagine someone getting caught in a graveyard, doing something nefarious. Why a graveyard? I have no idea. It seems to fit in my head when I listen to the song.
