The meaning itself is pretty evident in that its another guy loves girl song and girl is breaking guys heart by leaving him blah blah blah and he just can't let her go, he can't move on, and so he's giving up in a sense and claiming that he will do anything as long as he can still be in her life: be that friends or whatever else (even if it makes it impossible for him to ever move on)
