i totally get a 'Police' vibe from this song, which is totally different from anything KOL's given us before, either way amazing.

Trying to figure out what this song is about is nuts, i'm thinking it's his lifestyle

The first verse is about him feeling that he's responsible to change the world in the position he's in. His life was sheltered growing up & he'll be okay if he doesn't see everything. He's holding onto the memories of growing up having fun in his sheltered life

The kids in the street part is about how kids think they know everything, & shouldn't be doing the things they are but he knows they won't listen because he's older & if they listen to his music, they can learn something.

I think the chorus is like.. he feels vulnerable with his music, because it's all of his feelings & experiences & baring his soul to the world.

The correct lyrics for the next verse are: My papa’s slave had to go & fight the war He'd beat 'em all then he took 'em all to court My papa called & he said 'you remember me?' Now he's workin' awful hard in his factory

[i have no F-ing idea what this means & i'm too tired to attempt it]

The 'We ain't even been to the ocean We been runnin' barefoot through the street' could be about his rural lifestyle or about touring & everything being so raw.

i totally agree about how hard it is to understand this song... It's been driving me crazy! I cant decide if its happy or sad or what it's referring to!
