Ok, I'm gonna try and decipher a song for the first time.
Overall, i feel it's about a wealthy person losing his success/money/status etc.
I Think the first stanza is about him pretty much satisfying him himself,"overeating indulgences".
and his lifestyle is slowly making him weak.
When is said the things about feathers, i had to do some google research(lol) and i found out that feathers and oil are a bad combination, and can stop birds from flying, leaving them stuck somewhere, and eventually dieing.
The comment about hands and feet could be that people give an arm and a leg just to please him.
Now people begin to wonder, "how does he stay wealthy, but lives like a pig?"
Second stanza is about him actually losing his wealth,"I think I lost my means." So i guess he returns to where ever he came from.
The last line must mean that he started doing something desperate.
By the way, the next song on the album is 'Tommy', the song about a preacher's son selling cocaine....Connection maybe!?!?!
