I always thought it was about generations not understanding each other too. But I never thought he jumped in the end. I kind of just had an image of a kid on a ledge (well a billboard ledge in particular- but thats me) trying to hide away and get some space, hence the ending "I got no hiding place" because all the 'adults' came and ruined his solitude.
