Lyric discussion by Venne

I think it's about a dangerous couple, who get into trouble, only for one of them to eventually take a step back, and try and blame it all on the other ("leave it while it still smoulders so I have to say I told you") And here: "around the angles there's a race where silver never gets golder" I think of 'silver never gets golder' as being a way of saying "What we have now may not be the best, but this is the best we can ever have it", and I agree with blueofthesky, that the last two lines are basically saying that they don't have to become conventional and start acting their age, that they can carry on acting like they do now, and keep the relationship a bit dangerous and exciting.
