first of all, Jim Morrison didnt walk around bragging about being the best song writer ever. He did what he wanted, and people either loved it or hated it. Secondly, I challenge you to name 5 artists that could write better lyrics. You're probably the kind of gu that thinks John Mayer is the best song writer ever. His lyrics were poetry and he was a very smart and educated man. He wasnt just a drugged out rock star, he wasnt aiming to be a rock star. He wanted more than that, he wanted the world as an audience. If you dont understand the Doors then go elsewhere to voice your very nieve opinion. I fuckin hate when people think that the Doors were just a gimmik. The Doors music is true art, a sort of modern day Shakespear.
@Morrison fan he was absolutely revolutionary, to this day in my opinion, he is the most timeless poet that has stood the test of time. It would be a real struggle to name just a few as great a lyricist, showman, and poet that is on the same tier as him. Just outstanding. The Doors went out on a high that's still rolling to this day.
