I think this song is about a dude getting introduced into the Goth subculture and loving it and hating it at the same time. "subject me to your world" doesn't sound very voluntary. On a side note, even though companies like Hot Topic dilute and commercialize the lifestyle I love so much, they do make it more accessible to the younger generation. I see kids now with the bondage pants and chains and spikes and shit and I smile. Some of my contemporaries think that these kids are lame ass posers but I beg to differ. At some point in everyone's lives we have felt a need to belong to SOMETHING. Some find sports or academics, but there are some people, like myself, who never fit in anywhere. People who find solace in a moonlit graveyard, or can see the joyous celebration in a funeral. People, who for whatever reason prefer the Dark over the light. And for that they are ostracized by their family and peers. Then they find this...a group of people or a club, or even a Hot Topic and they FINALLY feel like they belong. It's an awesome feeling. Our culture is a beautiful thing. It belongs to everyone who wants to be a part of it. We will still be here when Hot Topic is no more. I'm 30 years old and I've been into this shit for a while. Maybe the people who are hating on the scene kids should be looking at themselves before they start passing judgement on others. BTW, SLIPKNOT AND KORN FUCKING KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!
