hey faith, i think you nailed it in your last line of your post: it's okay to cry.
i think that as beautiful as this song is, it has a simple message; life is hard but it's ok because it's hard for everyone and it's ok to get down about everything sometimes.
death and heartache surround us much more than we could ever imagine and life is going to get you down, but thats completely normal. and it's also completely normal to cry about it.
but i also think that the song is about hope. throughout all this bad stuff we encounter, pleasant things are around us too. When they write, "I saw a woman with ribbons in her hair, old and lonely...so beautiful I had to stop and stare, the well will not run dry," I am reminded that life is still worth living every day because of these simple pleasures. The beauty in simple life will keep you going.
And remember (even though the song doesn't say it) that although everyone grieves differently, it's okay and usually good when we let people in.
Faith, I'm truly sorry for your loss - even still, I urge you to love life anyway and live your life to the fullest every day. I'll pray for you.
