I Agree with you on that one, Caitedid. (Things I've been up to lately have kept me from seeing clear). I feel like this song could be simply talking about a relationship either coming out of a bad time to a new beginning, or to the end of the relationship. But, taken in a wider context, I believe that the song could be describing a part of life plagued by inactivity and apathy coming to a slow but sure end.
