I think its about Christians and any other religious hypocrites who try to shove their religion down your throat they pretend to be good and pure but like the line "Was it worth the game to lose our purities?" They were just faking the charade. I think its how the person the song is directed at played a game they thought was good but was'nt. In the end it left everyone accept you screwed.
