this is what I think. she fell in love with this boy. but she's not sure if she should commit. i guess she has had somewhat of a bad past, and she doesn't want him to know. but she wants him to ask her to be his so she can feel closer to him and get put back up on her feet. now she's thrown away "freindly ties" and she's ready to start all over again. So it's basically saying during the corus though: Her heart feels to big to fit inside becuase it beats out of her chest whenever she lays eyes on or thinks of him. But than it skips because of another emotion hits....causing alot of different thoughts to race around inside her head.
