Yea, I love this song. They are either going somewhere or more likely striving to do something to reach a goal. "We'll whittle the days away" makes me think that they are forge their own destinies. "If it isn't you, then what's the point?" That line confuses me. I'm wanting it to mean "If it isn't (with) you then what's the point?" cuz you wouldn't work hard at something next to someone you love (and I think the feeling is mutual) just to obtain that person. But that was me brainstorming...
