This song is definitely about finding God. He was living his life out of control but then he crashed into God. I can't decide if the "crash" is figurative or literal. It of course could mean any bad experience that he had or it could mean that he was in an actual crash that should of killed him but God appeared to him and saved him. Either way he was captured by His grace and he couldn't walk away from Him.
What he means by "your face and your eyes are burning to me" is that the face of God is impossible to see to a human but to trying to look is painful.
