From http://www.musicfaith.com/profiles/interviews/Underoath:

Music Faith (interveiwer): A lot of people ask me about the song Salmarnir. What language is being spoken and what is the translation? Grant Brandell (bass): Salmarnir is ice-landic for the word Psalm. The spoken dialogue is actually Psalm 50 in Russian, and then yelled in the background in English by Chris.

To clarify what thisapparatus69 has said, here are some quotes i have compiled about the Underoath-Christianity issue.

from http://www.punktv.ca/?c=105&a=1394 :

Aaron Gillespie (drums, vocals): "We're definitely a Christian band..."

Grant Brandell (bass): "I [grew up as] a Christian and wanted to play music and that just inspired me to take the talent that God has given me and use it for Him."

When asked about their success- "Grant: "It's all God"

From http://gauntlet.ucalgary.ca/story/5920:

Christopher Dudley (keyboards): We definitely don't ever want to have it be in question what we're about, we're Christians, we're a Christian band, and that's why we're here. We also talk from stage about it."

Underoath's website is "www.underoath777.com", "7" being the Lord's number.

Unfortunately I was unable to find any information regarding Underoath taking drugs, and I do not believe this to be true at all.

I hope that this has helped to clear up what has been previously said about the band.
