Arteries flexing as your heart beats hard.
down through your temples,
to your wrist and palm (clenched hard).
Either the performer or the fan at a concert and there's lots of adrenalin and stuff going on while everyone's jumping and whatever.
Stride down the catwalk,
preaching patience,
show the world your pitch black disguise.
sing the songs they sing,
the words you dont mean.
whens the last time you looked inside?
This person is showing off for the world but they're not truly being themselves. They're pretending to be someone else to get attention or so that other people think that they're 'cool'.
Stateline to stateline, i saw you over and again.
the speakers are shaking,
its the sound of a trend (soon to end)
This part could be about how the fan went and saw this band again and again, but the trend of their music or whatever will end soon.
Stirde down the catwalk,
preaching patience,
show the world your pitch black disguise.
sing the songs they sing,
the words you dont mean.
Whens the last time you looked inside?
Same again.
Raise your fist and pray to them
Underground idols.
Hear the noise of a trend, soon to end.
So here's the fan 'moshing' if you like to this band. The band is fairly 'underground' but the band's being worshipped like idols. Buuuuut soon the fan is hopefully going to realise that this isn't who he (or she) really is, and that it's all been an act.
That's my take on it anyway. I could be wrong.
But I love this song.
