I guess I'll say something since no one else seems to be interested. Hopefully someone will refute this or agree. I don't know if this is a far stretch or if I'm just reading it wrong, but this song sounds to me like the writer is frustrated with mainstream media today, mainly music. Sugarcult is one of those bands that really knows what they're doing as far as music is concerned, but they've never gotten very popular. They've been kept "outside" of the mainstream group. I won't elaborate anymore, but every section of the song seems to agree with that hypothesis if you think about it.
