i didn't catch the change in the chorus until my third or so listen ot this song.
i think it's just about young "love." how at first he's off travelling (possibly since he's a musician, or whatever future it is that required him to travel away). so at first he thinks he's in love and will keep holding onto the girl,
but then time and distance makes him realize that it wasn't that serious, and is overrr it.
