In my honest opinion, I think that she is a very underrated artist. She's got such a amazing voice that is able to convey so many powerful emotions. I love the fact that she displays her wide vocal range in this song... hitting those low notes in the first verse, and belting it out with all that she's got in the near end.
As regards to the lyrics, we all have our moments where we might have regretted making a certain decision in life. But inevitably, it always happens at some point. And once you've made that decision, you need to deal with the consequences and move on. The way I see it is this - she made a choice to choose her career instead of a potential relationship.

She has put her heart and soul into singing and her music that it's "Too late to realise how far apart we'd grown".
"Shoulda, woulda, coulda are the last words of a fool". Of course, one should try to avoid having regrets in life. But sometimes you might let things like ambition and work get in the way of your other needs in life.
