I'd say (knowing absolutely nothing about the band, i only got the song by clicking the 'last commented' link, then reading the lyrics and thinking, 'wow') that the speaker has just split up with the one he loved, poddibly a first love, by the passing of notes, he's saying he still loves her, but he's going to try and begin the healing process, but if she needs him, just call and he'll be there.
