no one every got anything great without taking a risk. the song isnt just about a relationship, its about getting what you want out of life in general. fuck the concept of a fire door. if you really have everything you want then you dont need a fire door, because when the fire comes you would do what it takes not to get your house burnt instead of just leaving it through some escape. its ok to be prepared for the unexpected but when its the one thing that you really want, even though the unexpected might happen you cant treat it like any other thing. if its not important to you enough that you need that sense of being able to abandon it, then its probably not going to be the best thing that you could have (not to say 'be selfish' but dont think that you gotta settle for something that wont satisfy you). anywho this song makes me think of a lot of things and you get the basic idea.
