Mr. Dane seems to like making attempts at trying to explain religion and how terrible it is. Considering it is apparent that he was not raised under any religion, nor has any type of expertise in the field of Theology, it seems appropriate that his philosophical world views should stem from what he sees when he turns on CNN at night. Still, how this makes him an anti-religion spokesperson is beyond me. Maybe he should step away from the LSD for a while, and realize that not only his views on spirituality are being destroyed because of it, but also his brain cells.
To FlamesofNibelheim: Your Christian friends are hardly Christian. Turn off the TV and stop allowing the the media to brainwash you into despising religion. People like you are the main reason why this world is the closest to it's end than it has ever been. Do you think it's a coincidence that there is
a direct correlation between secularism and the threat of armageddon? Put 2 and 2 together.
To blink182sux: Religion's main purpose is to liberate it's followers from your "chains of humanity." By choosing against religion, you are submitting to society, to the government, to the law, which chooses how you will live, forces you to abide, and limits your actions and philosophies by threatening your freedom. Yet you still claim you are not weighed down by anyone. Unless you are a complete nihilist, you will always have a god: man. Enjoy your void of nothingness, it has left you to a shallow existence full of meaninglessness.
As Einstein suggested, to claim that there is no God (while existing in a universe that limits us to three dimensions) is nothing short of lunacy.
Do not blame religion for the actions of certain individuals who have acted in it's name.
Einstein was wrong, we now know there are more than 3 dimensions. Putting 2 and 2 together doesn't explain the unknown and illogical reasonings behind most religions. And the government wants you to have religion so you have rules to follow. If you don't have a Bible to follow, or any religious beliefs at that, then you don't have to follow society's religion-based rules and norms. Imagine a world without a god: it'll either be a void of nothingness if you're a negative person; or you'll search for the real answers without using religion to cover your insecurities. Religion was made to comfort the people's fear of death, the possibility of life after death, tragedy in life, ect. If you were raised by a religious family then you have less of a chance of seeing the truth, because you were blindfolded from the start.
