Unlike everyone else, I could easily see the meaning of this song.
It's not about coping with a loved one commiting suicide, as one of the lines are:
"You lost at sea, Do you need me? Do you need direction?"
Obviously by that line you can tell it isn't suicide.
No one can purposely get lost at see.
It was an accident, and now it is the Angel of Death's duty to take care of his soul when he passes.
I must agree with everyone else, though, that this is a beautiful song.
Most of his other songs have a touch of macabre or humour in them, and this is one of his more serious songs.
It's excellent how he has done such a good job on it.
