The first verse is about the cycle of life. Pretty straightforward. The line "Everyone is practicing" refers to religion, as most of the world practices religion. The line "But this world's an accident" refers to the fact that religion is false and that everything got here by natural means and not by creation. The line "I was the fool because I thought I thought the world, turns out the world thought me" is written from the perspective of a deity. "I thought I made the world, turns out the world made me" to paraphrase. "Daddy's gone up in flames" refers to the loss of a belief in a deity, while "when the big lie hits your eye" refers to the epiphany of realizing that everything you were taught about religion was a lie. Basically, this song is about the loss of faith.
