Drug trip? Overdose?! Once again I understand somebody possibly seeing it as a song about drugs but really in the context of Goldfrapp for me most of their songs are about emotions. Not about sex or drugs. Their lyrics are like poetry, using metaphors and the like to express an emotion.
This song for me represents giving something another chance. Not looking back, just giving happiness another go. "Breathing new life" into a once sour situation. The "sharp as teeth and stars" symbolizing the yearning and desperation to give in again. And once that happens finally glowing in the joy of this reunion.
I can see both interpretations, and Alison herself has said her favorite part of music is releasing it and letting us interpret it. I do find they are usually about emotions. I think if the drug reference was a little more solid in the song, I'd say she's using the drug reference in a metaphor for making this decision that danslesbois is hinting at. Although its presumably about a relationship with a person (because of the word "you" in the second line, it could be about anything.
