Now, I don't think she wrote about that but rather compared it and used it as a means of explaining the charge of sexuality and yearning. I don't think her intentions were vulgar enough to simply be about rats or a vibrator but rather that 'inner electricity' that comes from passion, excitement, etc. The "white noise" being the waves of pleasure from such a strong connection to another or love.
