I'm not sure exactly what year he wrote this, but there is a bootleg recording out there of Hank Sr. playing this song. It's wonderful. Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain is a classic tale of love lost. I'm not sure the circumstances of the split between the two parties. It sounds like it's mutual. Though I'm not sure that either of these people wanted to leave, but they must have known it wouldn't work out. Another beautiful version is Shania Twain's. Willie plays guitar and sings harmony on it. It's wonderful.
