This song was written by Glen about a situation he found himself in in the early days of the band.
He was totally broke and living with his girlfriend who was a medical student. Whilst she was out working every hour God sent, he'd sit in their tiny flat and read through her books. He discovered a condition in one, a form of amnesia whereby sufferers would just run away leaving everything and everyone behind, move to a new town, and become a completely new person with a new life and no history.
One day, Glen and his girlfriend were evicted from the flat. He still wasn't earning enough money as a musician - and she was struggling as a student.
They sat on their boxes in the hall and he remembered that medical condition and suggested they should both do the same - just run away.
They gathered up all of their boxes and went and sat alongside a motorway, trying to hitch a lift to someplace else - anywhere.
They both got cold though, and wet. And ended up giving in, picking up all of their boxes and going to live in her parent's house.
