I think it's about a relationship that she (the narrator) ended. The guy wanted her back, but she felt she couldn't be in the relationship at that point, so they both moved on ("it's your turn to leave me hanging"). Except she hasn't really moved on, and finally got up the courage to call him, to see who he was with, and if he had gotten over her. She might not nessecarily want him back, but it does hurt her that "I made you hate me."
