Yes Lestat sings this song in the movie and I believe what he's trying to say in this song is he loves someone (Akasha) but feels that it could be a bad, and dangerous thing to feel. When he's with her, she is all about death and that's what he must have felt his whole life so it fits, but he doesn't want that. He knows what he's destined to be and what Akasha wants him to be and he would like to be that, just in a different way, a better way and not just kill for the pleasure. What he's suppost to be doesn't make sense to him and he has different thoughts on it so he later rebels and kills Akasha, well, he helped anyway. I hope you guys see where I'm going with this.
