i think hes saying "I want you to know what im going through" to God as well because he doesnt want Him to blame or hate him for what he's going through he wants Him to understand that he loves Him believes in Him but he wants more direction from Him and to in some way have tangible proof of Him, and it could come across to Him that hes saying i dont believe in you prove it but thats not it at all.
