You can only do so much to keep a relationship together, sometimes what seems like it will last forever, never does. Feelings change over time and you promise eachother that you will be together forever, but you don't, it just feels that way at one point. He's saying basically the feelings gone, it's not like it used to be, time to move on. I don't see how it is about fans..lol.
