Ok. If you read what I had wrote on the Margretville Dance thread, I state that it takes place at the Bleam houses and an actual dance.
Well this is basicly the same thing. The dance is almost over Cecilia has left and this may be the last 'slow song'.
I agree on the clanks and whatnot at the begining symbolizing the clanks of the machine, so this would mean that the father and the son are watching the mother be ground into "blood".
Meanwhile at the dance. The preacher is watching the dance. (maybe its a cathlic school) He has seen the way Cecilia danced and says that he loved it but also, I think that Butchie who is infact inlove with Cecilia i thinking it and watching from somewhere.
Someone tells the preacher that he shouldnt think that way. He is promiced to God.
Now to Long-arm. I think he may come to tell Butchie that thier father killed their mother. but he see's Butchie slobering all over himself at the sight of Cecilia. So Long-arm lies and says that their mother has asked them to kill her twin brothers. "But should i romove him fromthis curse
and cast away? Oh these dirty games I play. Long-Arm, you liar! Go run home to Mama! A good boy never gets to dance"
Butchie as you have seen yelled at him in return saying that the twins are 'good boys' and they dont deserve to 'dance'.
My interpretation.
