i always figured it was about love lost, i agree with BrandNewJersey. To me, it's about moving on from a relationship that just went sour and there's nothing you could do-"no medication to procure...there's no cure" for this pain. and the relationship has "fallen deep into arrears", so it becomes incurable. and he prayed for this person, but now it's over. and just "have to let it go," like any relationship that is over.
also, it should be, "I had myself fooled into NEEDING you," instead of "meeting." (straight out of the stunt booklet.)
