I think the skins is a metaphor for physical outside appearances "holding us in" -- and the "how we cling to our skins" as how people cling to physical appearances vs. the inside human being's character personality itself.
When it says, "Are you changing?" Again, a clever metaphor to "changing out" of physical appearances and revealing the self -- and that may be extremely different from how it may seem from judging from appearance, hence "are you going to be so different?" referring to wondering if the person inside is very different to outside appearances and first impressions, and "There's a world without skins," again pointing out that physical appearance is not everything.
According to my speculation above, this kind of explains the first verse about "Those are not your lips/Have you been kissed by a computer" as it is found out that the real person inside is drastically different.
Anyways, simply my two cents.
Why is this only on the UK Album? I am so confused, I think this is one of their catchiest songs...
